There are plenty of billboards scattered over all cities throughout the world – and only few of them catch an eye and are well-remembered by almost everyone. The best way to get people remember and spread your message is to make them participate in your advertising campaign and one of this enrolling campaign, i.e. to make your campaign interactive.

 

Here are 10 examples of interactive billboards that must have worked:

1. Slower is Better

The following interactive billboards register when the cars speed reaches above 25 mph and shows potential consequences of their high speeds.

2. Choose the Tan

You can have the tan you want. Choose yours:

3. What’s your weight?

Once a person sits down on a bench, his/her current weight is displayed:

4. Run for Charity

Any person could run on the enclosed treadmill. For every kilometer run, Nike promised to donate a certain amount to UNICEF.

5. Reduce the Bumps

Nivea used bubble wrap instead of regular poster material to get the “Reduce the Bumps” message across:

6. “It Happens When Nobody’s Watching”

The first poster that responds to a person looking at it.

7. “Cleans Pores. Fights Pimples”

Pond’s billboard actually consisted of a person inside cleaning the inside of the “pore” all day. The billboard said:

“Cleans Pores. Fights Pimples”.

8. Build the Puzzle

This billboard offered passers-by to “sort your head out” with Mc Donald’s 1 Euro large coffee. The billboard was actually a puzzle that allowed anyone to shuffle the pieces around to sort out the model’s head. The empty square displays Mc Donald’s logo.

9. “Everybody Has a Secret”

These billboards promoting a new show were featuring people walking through a city street. Headphone jacks were built into each person’s head, so that passersby could use their headphones to plug in and hear each person’s secrets.

10. Become a Street Artist

Interactive billboards (the advertiser is unknown) allowed people to experience the excitement of creating their own graffiti. They could choose some colors to write a message:
