Has it ever occurred to you that a swimming pool may be turned into an awesome masterpiece, or that it can raise awareness and spread a message? Let’s have a look at a few creative swimming pool designs and installations:

Swimming Pool Cinema

There was a strange screening of epic film Titanic shown in London. The movie was shown in a swimming pool in Finsbury, with the audience floating in wooden lifeboats in the swimming pool:

Drowning Kids Installation

A somewhat scary awareness campaign meant to remind parents of keeping an eye on their children having fun in a swimming pool. The author of this post rightfully questions the justifiability of the campaign placing fake children’s drowned bodies among kids swimming in the pool:

People in the Swimming Pool Illusion

Argentine artist Leandro Erlich has created a full-size pool including a deck and a ladder. When approached from the first floor, people, fully clothed, can be seen standing, walking, and breathing beneath the surface of the water. The people underneath the swimming pool can actually look above with realistic water effect on top of it:

Global Warming Installation

Imagine that one day Global warning results in the huge  Sea level rise. Then maybe people will be swimming a thousand feet above the NY skyline. The water won’t probably be so crystal clear and transparent but the swimming pool still looks realistic:

Swimming Pool Table

Playing on a water surface beneath this pool table brings new meaning to Winter Pool Covers, wonder whether they could put some fish inside and give it an aquarium feel:
